Overview

NGI provided engineering and technical support as a team subcontractor for ERRS Region 10 contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The project involved excavation of up to 20 feet in depth for environmental cleanup. Adjacent structures and surface improvements required that a shoring system be utilized. NGI provided a geotechnical investigation for design of the excavation shoring system. Construction recommendations and lateral pressures for design were provided for a combination of cantilevered sheet pile walls and tieback sheet-pile walls. Associated recommendations included monitoring of shoring system installation, excavation restoration, and general geotechnical and construction recommendations. NGI also provided support services consisting of inspection and materials testing during installation of the shoring system, excavation, and site restoration.
