Project: cougar dam tower modifications

Where: cougar dam reservoir, oregon

Overview

NTI provided special inspection and materials testing for the new 302 ft. wet well added to the south face of the intake tower and the construction of a new cofferdam over a 3-year period. The $20 million upgrades were designed to improve habitat conditions for Willamette Spring Chinook Salmon by regulating water temperatures downstream, which will allow water to be withdrawn from various elevations in the reservoir. NTI’s services included concrete mix design and trial batching, concrete batch plant inspections, reinforced concrete inspection, monitoring fill placement, pre-stressed rock anchor installation inspection, environmental remediation, reading geotechnical instrumentation setup to monitor movement of the dam during draw down periods, as well as maintaining an on-site materials testing lab.
